The Life of Gloria Dean McDuffie
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Gloria Dean McDuffie, 81, who died on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Camelot of Broussard.
Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.
Reverend Gilbert Dutel will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sharen M. Goins (Gary), Cynthia M. Reed (Richard), Catherine M. Houston (Jacques), Steven McDuffie (Marla), and Charles McDuffie (Alicia); her grandchildren, MaryKay, Destiny (Buckey), Jodie, Brandon, Devin, Jordan and Logan, Jacob, Christian, and Beau (Sarah); her great grandchildren, Saige, Kristen, Kade, Kailyn, AnnaLeece, Claire, and Andrew; and her brother, Donald Guilbeau (Judy).
She was preceded in death by her husband, USMC 1st Sgt. Royce McDuffie (Ret); her parents, Claude and Belle Guilbeau; her brother, Paul Guilbeau; and her great grandchild, Seth Pellegrin.
A native of Scott and a Lafayette resident for most of her life, Gloria was in the last graduating class of the old Lafayette High School. She worked for Acadian Religious and Gift Shop for many years, where she was loved and appreciated by her customers. She was a parishioner of St. Edmond Catholic Church and had a deep faith. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Charles McDuffie, Steven McDuffie, Richard Reed, Devin McDuffie, Brandon McDuffie and Saige Pellegrin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jordan McDuffie, Logan McDuffie, Jacob McDuffie, Christian McDuffie, Kade Pellegrin, and Jacques Houston.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
