The Life of Sonya Abington
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette, LA for Sonya Kleinfeldt Abington. Sonya passed away on November 22, 2016, at Heritage House Retirement Center, Vicksburg, MS.
Sonya Abington, born in 1932 in New Orleans, was a life-long New Orleans Saints fan. She was a resident of Lafayette, LA from 1967 until February 2016, when she moved to the retirement center to be near her daughter in Vicksburg, MS.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Ellen Freedman of Vicksburg, MS, and her son, Jerome Abraham Freedman of Baton Rouge, LA.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery, 3111 Johnston Street, Lafayette. A reception will be held at Sonya’s home in Lafayette at 704 Dulles Dr., after the burial.
