The Life of Edna Mae Brady Blakewood

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Edna Mae "Puddin" Brady Blakewood, age 90, who died at 3:50 PM on Friday, November 25, 2016 at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House in Baton Rouge.

Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Eric Brady and Giftbearers will be Julia Brady, Charlie Brady, Kate Ellet Prejean and Mallory Prejean. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "Pie Jesu" and "The Old Rugged Cross".

Survivors include her sons, Roy E. Brady and his wife, Christie of Clearwater, Florida and Patrick C. Brady and his wife, Peggy of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; three grandsons, Eric Brady and his wife, Jaclyn, Brad Brady and his wife, Lisa and Edward Brady and his wife, Rachel; and one granddaughter, Kate B. Prejean and her husband, Paul; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Rita Bretz, Ethel Bretz and her husband, Henry and Ethelyn "Bank" Friloux and her husband James, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy E. Brady, Sr. and William Blakewood; her parents, George and Annette Haydel Banquer; one brother, Herman Banquer; and her close friend, Robert Bell.

Puddin was a native of Edgard, Louisiana and a resident of Lafayette for over fifty years. She was a twenty-three year breast cancer survivor and a volunteer with numerous organizations including Hospice of Acadiana for twelve years.

Pallbearers will be Roy E. Brady, Jr., Patrick C. Brady, Brad Brady, Edward Brady, Kate Prejean and Paul Prejean.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until time of the service.
