LAFAYETTE - Funeral services for Odette Marie Landry Stakes, 81, will be 1:00PM Monday November 28, 2016 in David Funeral Home of Lafayette with Father Richard Fabre officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette Monday from 9:00 AM until service time with recitation of the rosary 12:00 PM

A strong woman of faith, Odette went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 25th, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of South Louisiana and was a pillar of her culture as a strong Cajun woman. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Landry and Nella Fabre Landry. She was one of nine siblings, Gerald Landry, Roland Landry, Raoul Landry, Roy Landry and those who passed before her, Silvia Hill, Leona Corley, Geraldine LeBlanc, and Lester Landry. She loved her family and shared many life long memories with all of them. Her ability to face every day with a smile and a laugh was such an amazing example of strength that her family will carry on in her honor.

She is survived by seven children, Eddie Stakes, Claudette Stevens (Dan), Glenn Stakes, Monica Whitewing, Steve Stakes (Susan), Terry Stakes (Karen), and Sherry Stakes. She has seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers are her sons Glenn Stakes, Steve Stakes, Terry Stakes and her brothers Gerald Landry, Raoul Landry, and Roy Landry.  Honorary Pallbearer is her brother Roland Landry.
