The Life of William H Blankenship

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for William H. Blankenship, age 68, who died on Friday, September 23, 2016 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Reverend Richard Humphries of Asbury United Methodist Church will officiate the services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art", "Because He Lives", "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Battle Hymn of the Republic".

Survivors include his loving wife Judy Ann (Senac) Blankenship of 34 years, son: Olan S. (Cathy) Loveless, Jr. daughter: Ruby (Jay) Tomlin, Grandchildren: Valarie (Tyler) Lamb , Kayce Loveless; Casey Kinard, Tatum Kinard, Jason Tomlin, Jessica (Randy) Welford, Great-Grandchildren: Brenley, Blake, Brooklyn , Kate, Hunter, Hadley, and Jesse. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Tommy Blankenship.

Bill was born October 1, 1947 in Eglin Air Force Base, FL, to the late William H. and the late Frances Louise (Cochran) Blankenship. He went on to serve in the United States Army where he completed three tours in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Bronze Star for Valor. Bill was in the 525th MI Group. After his service in the Army, Bill worked as a Correctional Officer for 25 years. During his retirement he was a representative for the PBA (Police Benevolent Association). Bill was an avid reader with hobbies including fishing, hunting, and telling his best stories, as he never met a stranger. He was a loving husband and PaPa and cherished his time with all of his family and friends.

Pallbearers will be David Hartfield, Bodie Zerangue, Flint Zerangue, Chester Wyble, Olan Loveless, Jr. and Zef Zerangue. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jay Tomlin, Al Bryant and Rocky Pizzarello.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 10:00 AM until time of services.
