The Life of Francis Earl Comeaux

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 16, 2016 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for F. Earl Comeaux, age 82, who died on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 40 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Russell Comeaux; five children, Lisa Walls and her husband, Zane, Michael Comeaux and his wife Lori, Jennifer C. Panos and her husband, Jim, Patti Comeaux and Kevin Comeaux; his step-children, Ben Shank and his wife, Michelle, John Shank and Charlie Shank and his wife, Kathryn; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and his sister-in-law, Hazel Comeaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien and Alice Comeaux; his sisters, Flora Mae Comeaux and Clara Comeaux Cross; and two brothers, Larry J. Comeaux, Sr., Walton Comeaux; and mother of his children, Faye V. Comeaux.

F. Earl Comeaux was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1953 and attended SLI and The School of Banking. Mr. Comeaux worked for Guaranty Bank and was owner and operator of Earl''s Food Center on Verot School Road for 33 years. He was a member of the US National Guard and the Modernaires Band. He was an avid fan of the Saints and Swamp Pop music. Earl was very caring, selfless, thoughtful, humorous, loving, supportive, kind-hearted, devoted, friendly, gentle, and generous. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Zane Walls, Corey Ogé, Brock Walls, Gregg Guidry, Keith Guidry, and Robbie Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Broussard, C.J. Thibodeaux, Johnny Thibodeaux, Rogers Trahan, Ryan Bordelon, Stephanie Comeaux, Classmates from Lafayette High School Class of 1953, and The Modernaires Band members.

A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
