The Life of Betty Joyce Mires
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Betty Mires, with entombment to follow in the Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum with Rev. Msgr. Charles Mallet as Celebrant.
Mrs. Mires, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Edward Broussard and the former Etta Guidry. She was a native of Port Arthur, TX and lived most of her life in Louisiana being a resident of Lafayette since 2000. Mrs. Mires was a member of the Baton Rouge Porcelain Art Guild, a member of the Baton Rouge Garden Club as well as a member of the St. Mary Mother of God Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, I. J. Mires; one daughter, Bridget Mires; sister, Cecile Broussard and a number of friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother, Emick Paul Broussard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 10:00AM until the time of the service.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Broussard, Andre Broussard, Mark Nelson, Daniel Broussard and Adam Broussard, with P. J. Broussard serving as an honorary pallbearer.
