A Memorial Service for Mrs. Jeanette Howard, 86, will be held on Sat. August 20, 2016 at 11:00am at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 400 Camellia Blvd. Lafayette, LA.

A native of Texas and a resident of Camelot Assisted Living in Broussard, Mrs. Howard passed at 2:00AM on Thursday, July 11, 2016 at Lafayette General Medical Center. During her career she was an executive secretary for H.E.B Corporate Offices in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, TX.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved animals including her dogs and cats.  When her daughter and son were growing up she enjoyed watching her daughter ride her quarter horse and enjoyed fishing and going to the beach with her son.  She was a wonderful cook.  In the summers when her children were growing up she enjoying taking vacations in the hill country near Kerrville, Texas.  She dedicated her life to raising her children and to their education.  After she retired she resided in Bellville, TX and then later moved to Broussard, LA.  Most recently she enjoyed spending time with her close friends at Camelot.

She is survived by a son, Steve P. Howard and his wife Debbie of Broussard; a brother, Karl Stanfield and his wife Sally of Corpus Christi, TX; a son in law, Kevin R. Campbell of Bellville, TX; four grandchildren, Hillary Bordelon and her husband Derrick, Paul Howard and his wife Brooke, Kristi Schipper and her husband Andrew; and Kyle Campbell; and seven great grandchildren, Molly Bordelon, Elise Bordelon, Zoe Howard, Hayes Howard, Aiden Schipper, Kade Schipper, and Brooks Schipper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Rebecca Susan Campbell.

In lieu of flowers her family requested donations be made to Affiliated Blind of Louisiana at 409 W. St. Mary Blvd. Lafayette, LA 70506 or Miles Perret Cancer Services at 2130 Kaliste Saloom Pkwy, Lafayette, LA  70508.
