The Life of Rose Marie Duhon

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at a 1:00 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Rose Marie Duhon, age 88, who died on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Deacon Art Bakeler will conduct the funeral services.

She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Amilcar Melca Duhon and Odile Legnon Duhon; two sisters, Agles Morgan and Agnes Calais; and four brothers, Clarence Duhon, Wilbur Duhon, Wilson Duhon and Harris Duhon.

Miss Duhon was born on April 12, 1928 in Rayne, Louisiana. She lived in New Orleans, Chicago and resided in New York City (Manhattan) for over 35 years before moving to Lafayette. She also traveled extensively on tours to European and Middle Eastern Countries. Rose worked for many years as a Cosmetician and hair stylist before her retirement. She loved Equestrian sports (horseback riding), tennis and reading. Rose was a life long maiden and the last surviving member of her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Calais, Howard Duhon, Roy Hunt, Carl Janice, Darrell Doiron, Mike Ballowe and Ronnie Morgan.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
