The Life of Marie A Moyer

Marie A. (Long) Moyer, 90, of Alburtis, died Saturday, June 11, 2016 in St. Luke's Hospice, Bethlehem. She was the widow of James G. Moyer, who died on February 13, 2001.

Born in Alburtis, she was a daughter of the late Morris C. and M. Elsie (Wetzel) Long. Mrs. Moyer was a long-time member of Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., Alburtis, where she was a part of the church crafters, annual bazaar and outreach committee. She was a 1944 graduate of Emmaus High School and was a Homemaker. Marie was an avid reader who also enjoyed crocheting, sewing and playing the organ. She was also a former Campfire Girl Leader and a member of the Secret Pal Group in Alburtis.

She is survived by her four Daughters, Judy A. (Moyer), wife of Lin S. Schleicher, Albrightsville, Kathy J. (Moyer), wife of Roy W. Seaman, Zionsville, Jo Y. (Moyer), wife of Charles R. Bednar, Alburtis, and Jane E. (Moyer), wife of Charles R. Messick, Alburtis; Sister, Doris J. (Long), wife of Kenneth C. Dornblaser, Alburtis; 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her Husband; Parents; Sister, Hope L. Long in 2015; Brothers, Bern M. Long in 2001 and Laverne Long in childhood; and one Granddaughter, Quinna M. Schleicher in 1989.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM in Church of the Good Shepherd U.C.C., 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, with Reverend Scott M. Sanders officiating.  Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the church. Burial will be private.

The family requests contributions be made in Marie's memory to St. Luke's Hospice, 240 Union Station Plaza, 1st Floor, Bethlehem, PA 18015. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
