The Life of Jack Williams

Jack Williams, 85, formerly of Kutztown, died peacefully in his home in Agawam, Mass., on April 29, 2016, with his loving wife Mary Jane and his granddaughter, Amanda by his side.

Born in Leesport, Jack was a son of the late Robert and Mary (Reber) Williams. Jack worked 31 years as a welder at Dana Corporation, Parish Division, Reading. Following his retirement, Jack served as President of Kutztown Fire Company for 14 years; Manager of Kutztown Fair Restaurant, Kutztown, for ten years; President of Checkered Flag Fan Club, Kutztown, for 10 years. He was also a member of Kutztown Hobos for 51 years where he served as a past president. Mr. Williams was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite drivers were Bill Elliot and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He enjoyed the many yearly trips to Daytona Speedway for the races, and to Walt Disney World and SeaWorld with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary Jane, Jack is survived by Sons, Barry and Scott Williams; and a Daughter, Jackie Williams. Other survivors include a Brother, Robert and his wife Shirley Williams, Kutztown; his Step Granddaughter, Amanda Derose, Agawam, Mass., (her Pop-Pop's special red-haired angel who cared for him in his final weeks at home); Stepchildren, Debra wife of Earl Weber, Blandon; Mike and his wife Heidi Youse, Reading; Cathy widow of Perry Kramer, Kutztown; Barry and his wife Denise Youse, New Ringgold; Tammie wife of George Menard, Wilbraham, Mass.; and Robin Derose, with whom he resided. There are 14 Step Grandchildren: Jason, Matt and Earl Brian Weber; Amy and Jenna Youse; Perry and Chad Kramer; Amber, Rebekah, Kayla and Josh Youse; Brandon Igo; and George and Maresa Menard. There are also 12 Step Great Grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was predeceased by 4 Sisters: Mary Unger; Grace Duncan; Janie Ernst; Laura Kintz; 2 Brothers, Leroy and Alfred Williams.

A celebration of Jack's life to be held in Kutztown, and will be announced at a later date. Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Kutztown, is assisting the family with local arrangements.
