The Life of Wilson A Danner
Wilson A. Danner, 81, of District Township, died on Monday, May 2, 2016 in his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Katie I. (Reinert) Danner, whom he married on July 20, 1957.
Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh Co., he was a son of the late Charles W. and Malara F. (Holben) Danner. Wilson was a member of Huff’s Union Church, Alburtis. He was a 1953 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Wilson was employed as a cabinet maker by Allen Organ Company, Alburtis, for 18 years, retiring in 2007. Prior to that, Wilson worked as a kiln burner at Lehigh Portland Cement Co., Fogelsville, and as a Supervisor at Olin, Inc., Allentown. Wilson was an avid gardener who took great pride in his three large gardens. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially taking care of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his Wife of 58 years, Katie; he is survived by 2 Daughters, Katherine A. (Danner), wife of David W. Schantz, Alburtis, and Karen L. (Danner), wife of Jeffrey W. Willett, Macungie; 4 Grandchildren, Megan E. (Schantz), wife of Jeffrey Ruth, Matthew D., husband of Rochelle Schantz, Nathan D. Schantz and Bryan A. Danner; and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Asher Ruth, Heather Ruth, Allis Ruth and Michael Schantz. Wilson was predeceased by his Parents; Son, Allen W. Danner, who died on August 1, 2005; 6 Sisters, Marie Danner, Anna (Danner) Reppert, Lena (Danner) Spatz, Gladys (Danner) Yerger, Shirley (Danner) Dreibelbis and Helen (Danner) Moyer; and a Brother, Charles Danner.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Huff’s Union Church, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, with his Pastor, Reverend Jane M. Kropa officiating. Interment will follow in Huff’s Church Union Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made in Wilson’s memory to Huff’s Union Church Memorial Fund, 540 Conrad Road, Alburtis, PA 18011. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Topton, PA.
