The Life of Kenneth J Yerger

Kenneth J. Yerger, 93, of Kutztown, died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in The Lutheran Home at Topton. Kenneth was the husband of Doris A. (Stein) Yerger, they were married July 2, 1949.

Born in Topton, Kenneth was a son of the late James K. and Gertrude A. (Pfeifly) Yerger.  Mr. Yerger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Kenneth honorably and faithfully served our country in the United States Army during World War II.  He was also a member of Huguenot Lodge #377, F.&A.M., Kutztown. Mr. Yerger worked as a Supervisor at Cabot Corporation, Boyertown for 20 years until his retirement in 1986. He also worked as a purchasing agent and traffic manager at Electro Chemical, Emmaus, and the former Glenn L. Martin Aircraft, Baltimore, MD, as an aircraft mechanic.  Kenneth was the co-owner, along with his wife, of the former Topton Dry Cleaning, Topton, for 17 years. Kenneth was an avid golfer and bowler.

In addition to his Wife of 66 years, Doris, Kenneth is survived by Sons, Kenneth L., husband of Sharon A. (Amato) Yerger, Bethlehem, and Greg J., husband of Denise A. (Fontaine) Yerger, Kutztown. Other survivors include 6 Grandchildren, Gabriel, Sierra, Logan, Luke, Tiffany Yerger and Cassaundra Amato.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at 10:30 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn, officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.  Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family requests contributions be made in Kenneth's memory to Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund, P.O. Box 37, Topton, PA 19562-0037. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
