I have so many fond memories of Earl from my time at Salem Bible Church. He was such a sweetheart. I got to know Earl since he used to drive the bus for the Salem School kids field trips. When Pauline died I would make sure that I gave Earl hugs every Sunday. I knew it was so hard for him to be alone. This became our routine on Sundays to seek each other out for our Sunday hug. One day he came to tell me that he didn't need a hug anymore since he had a girlfriend who he said really liked him! After he married Fern I still gave him hugs along with Fern. Such sweet friends to me. After Bob and I left Salem we occasionally saw Earl and Fern at the Home Town Diner and had dinner with them. I know that Earl is in the presence of His Lord and so our mourning is not for him, but for those he left behind. Bob and I will be praying for God's comfort to his family and friends. We'll miss you Earl. Now you can get your hugs from the Lord.
