The Life of Raymond Lewis Williams
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand for Raymond Lewis Williams, 70, who passed away on March 27, 2016.
Deacon Russell Hayes will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Williams, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Herbert Williams and the former Mara Fornea.
Raymond loved the outdoors and camping especially, the reenactment of the 1840''s trapper''s and trader''s period. He was a retired New Orleans firefighter.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gwen D. Williams; three daughters, Shannan W. Dillingham and her husband, Walter, Michelle D. Williams and Jennifer W. Prince and her husband, Todd; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James R. Williams.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10:00AM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Bill Adams, James Prince, Rene Girard, Rene Girard, Jr., Lee Carricut and Glenn Fuselier.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his friends from Piper''s Haven.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in his memory to Children''s Hospital of New Orleans, 200 Henry Clay, New Orrleans, LA 70118 or to the New Orleans Firefighter''s Association Benevolent Fund, 3520 Gen. DeGaulle, Suite 3001, New Orleans, LA 70114.
