The Life of Lee Alfred LeBlanc

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Lee “L.A.” LeBlanc, 74, who passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

Visitation will be observed on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 10:00 am until the time of services, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette.

A private burial will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Mr. LeBlanc was born April 10, 1941 in Franklin, LA to Elizabeth Boykin Rothschild LeBlanc and Lee J. LeBlanc. He graduated from Lafayette High School in 1960 and joined the United States Marine Corps shortly thereafter. Mr. LeBlanc was a former agent for the National Life Insurance Company but spent most of his life in the oil industry. He traveled extensively in conjunction with his work and resided in Scotland, Egypt and Greece throughout his tenure. L.A. was an avid reader, sports fan and enjoyed traveling overseas.

Mr. LeBlanc is survived by his stepdaughter, Danette Soto and her husband, Juan of Crosby, TX; his stepson, Kelly Paul Canulette and his wife, Nicole of Lafayette; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; his siblings, Jay Rothschild of Slidell, LA, Michael LeBlanc and Charlotte L. Castille, both of Lafayette, LA; two stepbrothers, Robert Granger of Makiki, HI and Tommy Granger of New Iberia, LA and numerous dear nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Erin LeBlanc Fondon and his sisters-in-law, Faye Rothschild and Ellen LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers are Walter Rothschild, Jim Castille, Carlton Castille, David LeBlanc, Dr. John Sutherlin and Stephen LeBlanc.

The family would like to express their appreciation to his wonderful friends, Quendale Francis, Carrol Castille and Yvonne and Oray Duval for their love and support throughout his lifetime. A special thanks to Dr. Shahed Jameel, the staff on the 8th floor of Lafayette General Medical Center and the nurses at The Carpenter House for their kindness and extraordinary care.
