The Life of Wilbert Woody
Memorial Services will be held Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers on Bertrand Dr. for Wilbert Woody, 86, of Lafayette, Louisiana who passed away March 3, 2016 at Maison de Lafayette in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born on February 21, 1930 in Lafayette, LA and was the son of Jep and Lucille Woody.
Minister Ronald Dubois of St. Joseph''s Hospice will officiate.
Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Wilbert lived all of his life in Lafayette where he graduated Valedictorian at both Lafayette High and the South Louisiana Institute (University of Louisiana of Lafayette). He was an avid history buff in American and Political history. He worked for many years as an Insurance Adjuster and then as an Accountant for the Lafayette Parish Police Jury. He was also involved in local politics.
Wilbert was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Lucille Woody of Lafayette, LA. and Kathryn Arceneaux of Pismo Beach, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Marlene Deshotels Woody and a daughter, Cynthia E. Woody.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Dr. are funeral directors in charge of arrangements.
