The Life of Ellis Elbert Taylor III

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Ellis Elbert Taylor, III, 65, who died on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at his residence in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Keith LaBove, Pastor of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Cathy Stutes, Shantel Hayes and Angie Zaunbrecher. Giftbearers will be Angie Zaunbrecher and Rachel Regan. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," "Remember Me," "Amazing Grace," and "Precious Lord Take My Hand."

He leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter, Cherie Ann Taylor; three sons, Ellis Elbert Taylor, IV and his wife, Serena Brinkman, Shane Joseph Taylor and his companion, Shantel Jeneé Hayes, and Christopher John Taylor and his girlfriend, Laura Poehlein; his ex-wife, Ann Taylor; eleven siblings, Catherine Stutes, Sandra Sue Taylor, Khristine Roseberry and her husband, Tony, Terry Venable, Donald Venable and his wife, Donna, Frank Venable and his wife, Wendy, Thomas Venable and his wife, Caroline, Rodney Taylor, Corlis Taylor, Stacy Taylor and Cheryl Taylor; and eight grandchildren, Isaac Fontenot, Chazz Denham, Grayson Roy, Luke Taylor, Logan Taylor, Kale Taylor, Cayden Spaulding and Nixon Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis E. Taylor, Jr. and Delta Venable.

Ellis Elbert Taylor, III was born in Beaumont, Texas and was a resident of Sulphur for the last 10 years. He was a proud veteran of the military, having served his country as a member of the United States Army. He worked for many years as a security specialist with the Department of Energy-Homeland Security. Mr. Taylor was a Master Mason with the Lodge in New Iberia. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Taylor, Shane Taylor, Ellis Taylor, IV, Donald Venable, Chazz Denham, Isaac Fontenot and Ryan Cryer. Honorary pallbearers will be Delson Fontenot, Grayson Roy, Cliff Fontenot and Luke Taylor.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
