The Life of Maudred Mae Larson
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 13, 2016 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Maudred Savoy Larson, 95, who passed away on February 9, 2016.
Reverend Michael DeBlanc, Associate Pastor of St. Genevieve Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Larson, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Jules A. Savoy and the former Gertrude Comeaux.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Larson Martin, David Larson and his wife, Kelly, Michael Larson, Sr. and his wife, Kathleen and Christine Larson Price and her husband, Scott; grandchildren, Monet Martin McCarthy, Gus Martin, Melissa Martin de la Houssaye, Gregory Martin, Matthew Martin, Michael Larson, Jr. and Kyle Price; five great grandchildren and her sister, Emily Savoy Cusimano.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy O. Larson; daughter, Darlene Larson, and two siblings, Presley Savoy and Lena Savoy Benoit.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home - Bertrand on Friday, February 12, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
We will miss her dearly and will always remember the good times we shared. She showed us the true meaning of faith, love and happiness. She always kept her family first and we were fortunate that she was able to cook Sunday dinner for us regularly, even at 95 years old. She prayed the rosary and walked three miles every day. She was an inspiration to us all with her deep faith and joie de vivre.
