The Life of Marian Elise McDade

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at a 10:00 AM Memorial Mass at St. Mary Mother of the Church Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Marian Elise Montagne McDade, who died at her residence on Thursday, February 4, 2016, surrounded by family.

Inurnment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Very Reverend Monsignor Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the Memorial Mass. Father Joseph Brennan will concelebrate.

Marian was born on July 31, 1928, in Abbeville Louisiana, the daughter of Odette and Ferdinand Montagne. She was a graduate of Abbeville High School and Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and an Educator in Lafayette Parish. She was married for 46 years to Joseph William McDade, DDS. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a member of St. Mary’s Ladies Altar Society, L’Avenir Women’s Club, and a past Board member of the Alexandre Mouton House/Lafayette Museum Association. She especially loved her close friends of “The Supper Club” who dined together once a month for over 50 years.

Survivors include her brother, John Montagne of Abbeville, LA; step-children Dorothy Marie McDade Juneau and husband A.J. of Bunkie, LA; Lydia Marie McDade of Baton Rouge, LA; Anne Marie McDade of Lafayette, LA; and step-daughter-in-law Ellen Comeaux McDade of Broussard, LA. Also step-grandchildren Christopher Juneau, Amy Juneau Sonnier, Brian Juneau; Anthony Bellina, Joey Bellina; Allison McDade Ackal, Ashley McDade, Brittany McDade; Michael Walker, Jr., and Renee Walker; and 10 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Jeannette Montagne Motty, her step-son, Michael Joseph McDade, and one step-grandson, Taylor McDade Walker.

Pallbearers: Christopher Juneau, Brian Juneau, Anthony Bellina, Joey Bellina, and Michael Walker, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers: Dr. Larry Baker, Daniel Bouligny, George Cole, Ted Kibbee, and Dr. Richard Williams
