The Life of Luke Eraste Tribe
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at a 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Luke Eraste Tribe, 90, who died on Friday, December 18, 2015 in Lafayette.
Reverend William Schambough, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Nicole Canova. Giftbearers will be Gerald and Linda Tribe.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Janis Anne Tribe of Lafayette; and Sandra Canova and her husband, Sam of Lafayette; one grandchild, Chad Anthony Canova and his wife, Nicole of Lafayette; two great grandchildren, Callie Marie Canova and Ian Drew Canova.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle Barras Tribe; and his parents, Xavier and Noemie Guidry Tribe; three sisters, Adele Landry, Marie Bellot and Lucille Marshall; and six brothers, Daniel, Bonnie, Francis, Etienne, Maxie and Henry.
Luke Eraste Tribe was a native of Broussard, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, and proudly served his country on the USS Saint Louis, "The Lucky Lou", in the Pacific Front during WWII. Mr. Tribe worked for the Daily Advertiser for over 42 years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Tribe will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Doctors, Bradley Chastant II, Gus Ingraldi, Maximo LaMarche and Bridgeway Hospice for their compassionate care in their loved one''s time of need.
A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
