The Life of Louella Gumpert

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Louella Perry Gumpert, 82, who passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Father Dan Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Inurnment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Louella was born on December 26, 1932 in Bunkie, LA. She was the youngest daughter of Homer and Eleanor Perry and the sister to Margaret Perry Gumpert, Jeannette Perry Savage and Mary Louise Perry Stirling. She was happily married to Carl A. Gumpert on June 4, 1955 in Bunkie and the couple initially resided in New Orleans. She completed her Registered Nurse training in New Orleans and worked as a Charge Nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans; later moving to Lafayette in 1958 when Carl established his Dental practice. She raised five children, Carl Jr., Paul, John, Kris and Elizabeth while managing a household that was never short of family and friends. She also took great pride in her grandchildren; Mary, Michael, Kristopher, Brandon, Thomas, Matthew, Victoria and Payton and her step grandchildren; Erica and Christopher Kessel, Lane, Aaron and Taylor Mitchell. Louella was known as "GG" to her great grandchildren; Christian, Olivia, Ava and Stella. Almost all were in attendance when Louella and Carl, Sr. renewed their wedding vows of sixty years this past June at their parish home of St. Jules Catholic Church.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:00 AM until time of service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jules Catholic Church, 116 St. Jules Street, Lafayette, LA 70506.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
