The Life of Darius "Danny" Merrick Soileau Jr.
NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Darius "Danny" Merrick Soileau, Jr., Age 68, at 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Danny passed away at 3:10 pm on, Friday, October 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Danny loved spending time outdoors at his camp in Loreauville and hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed racing his 1963 Ford Falcon. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them and spoiling his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Theresa Louviere Soileau of New Iberia; one daughter, Tracey S. LeMaire and husband Charles of St. Martinville; one son, Dane Soileau of Lafayette; three grandchildren, McKenzie LeMaire, Conner LeMaire and Cameron LeMaire and three sisters, Lorraine Barras and Debra Romero and husband Barry all of New Iberia and Doris David of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darius Merrick and Lessie Hilliard Soileau, Sr.; mother and father in law, Maurice and Edna Louviere; brother in law, Eddie Barras, nephew, Tommy Barras and his great niece, Cacie Barras.
Evangeline Funeral Homes, Inc. of New Iberia is in charge of arrangements.
