The Life of Dorothy Mix
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at an 11:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Dorothy B. Mix, 93, who died on Monday, November 2, 2015 at her residence in Sunset surrounded by her family.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Diane Bijeaux will officiate the services. Eulogist will be Lois Bartley. Musical selections will be, "Amazing Grace," "The Lord''s Prayer," and "Glory of His Presence."
She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Lois Bartley, Dottie Gill and Shelly Mix Braddock and her husband, Glen Braddock; five grandchildren, Marc Duhe, Cheryl Bartley and her husband, Greg Damico, Sean Bartley, Lisa Williamson and her husband, Jacob, Danielle Lawrence and Brittney Robbins; eight great grandchildren, Ana Williamson, Cole Williamson, Carter Williamson, Gabrielle Damico, Devin Lawrence, Aiden Lawrence, Julia Flowers and Sebastian Morrow; and her sisters, Mary Delambre and Betty Prince.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Shelby Joseph Mix; one daughter, Elaine "Lanny" Marie Duhe; two sons-in-law, Ralph Gill and Charles Bartley; and her parents, Henry and Willie L. Broughton.
Pallbearers will be Marc Duhe, Sean Bartley, Greg Damico, Jacob Williamson, Glen Braddock and Cole Williamson.
Dorothy B. Mix was a native of New Iberia, Louisiana. She resided in Jeffersonville, Indiana for approximately 25 years, before retiring to Sunset, Louisiana. Dot was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mom will be remembered for her devotion to family and her talent for making each person feel special. Her holiday dishes will be truly missed.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
