The Life of Edith "Carolyn" M Talbot

Carolyn Talbot passed away on October 31, 2015. She was 97 years old. A native of the state of Maine, she was a long time resident of Louisiana.

Carolyn served as a registered nurse and an officer of the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was also a charter member of the Women''s War Memorial and Foundation in Washington D.C. where she was registered.

Following her move to Lafayette in 1970, she was employed at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Carolyn was an ambitious, independent, thoughtful and caring person who loved her children dearly. For the past several years, she has made her home at the Courtyard Retirement Home in Lafayette, LA. Although Carolyn was blessed with a long and memorable life, only those who knew her well were aware of her many experiences and accomplishments. She will be missed by many as a generous and courageous person.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Raymond Joseph Talbot and three sons, Robert, Roger and Raymond. Survivors include five children, Ronald and wife Francis, Sandra and husband Ed, Richard and wife Rose, Barbara and husband Johnnie, Randy and wife Cathy, daughters-in-law Barbara Jo and Freda and one sister, Bertha Lundquist as well as many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

A grave side memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11am at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
