The Life of Michael Joseph McDade

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, for Michael J. "Mike" McDade, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his residence in Broussard surrounded by his family.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend William Ruskoski, Associate Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 36 years, Mary Ellen Comeaux McDade; his three children, Allison McDade Ackal and her husband, Gabriel Ackal, Jr., Ashley McDade and Brittany McDade; his step-mother, Marian Montagne McDade; his siblings, Dorothy Juneau and her husband, A.J., Lydia McDade, and Anne McDade; his two grandchildren, Gabriel Ackal III and Elizabeth Ackal; his mother-in-law, Nola Comeaux; his sister-in-law, Marguerite Levy and her husband, Winston; his brothers-in-law, Dr. James Garber and his wife, Judy and Ronald Garber and his wife Kathy; and his numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Joseph William McDade and his mother, Joy Larose McDade.

Pallbearers will be Chris Juneau, Tony Bellina, Garret Lormand, Dwain Martin, Rod Landry and Scottie Broussard.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Gabriel Ackal, Jr., Brian Juneau, Doug Lormand, Joey Bellina, Michael Walker, and Harlow Gers.

Michael was a native of Lafayette, La and resident of Broussard, La. He was a loving and compassionate husband, father, and grandfather. Michael will always be remembered for his kind and gentle heart. He never met a stranger, leaving a positive, friendly impression on everyone he met. Michael''s sense of humor and quick wit will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A Rosary will be recited by Polly Garber and Margaret Rucks on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of services.

The McDade family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of Heart of Hospice.
