The Life of Albert Joseph Belaire

Breaux Bridge - A memorial service will be held at 2:pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 307 Artisan Road, Lafayette, LA for Albert Belaire, 78 who died peacefully in his sleep at his residence, August 23, 2013 after an 18 year battle with cancer.

Mr. Belaire honorably served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He became an electrician, then an electrical estimator and later he and his wife became Hot Shot driver''s and were able to travel extensively. He also loved spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Barham Moore Belaire, one sister, Betty Belaire, one brother, Robert Belaire and his wife Jerry. Five children, Melissa Prejean and husband Michael, Albert Belaire the II, Vance Belaire and his wife Kathy, Toby Belaire, and Leslie Belaire, a stepdaughter Libbie Harrison and her husband Kelly, a stepson, Robbie Moore and his wife, Cheryl..His presence will be missed by eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren and a large amount of nieces and nephews.

Readers will be Libbie Harrison, Michael Prejean, Emeile Hebert, William Parr and Melissa Prejean. He was preceded in death by his father, William Joseph Belaire, his mother, Cecile Barras Belaire, three sisters, Winola Leleux, Teresa Pourciau, and Yola Ducet, a stepson, Clay Moore, and a grandchild, Justin Harrison.

Albert love LSU football most of all. We are asking anymore who attends the service to feel free to dress casually and wear an LSU shirt, purple or gold clothing. You will recognize the address by an LSU flag in the front of the residence.

The family would like to thank St. Joseph hospice for the wonderful care and education provided to the family. We also wish to thank Dr. Phillip Noel and Dr. Karen Roden, both from Lafayette as well as Dr Kelley Moore for taking care of him during hospital stays and after. She went beyond what was expected of any grandchild.
