The Life of Gerald Lloyd Denman
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at a 12:30 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Gerald L. Denman, 84, who died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his residence in Lafayette surrounded by his family.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial park Cemetery.
Reverend Michael Keith Landry, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island, will officiate the services.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 62 years, Sable P. Denman; one son, Gerald J. "Jerry" Denman and his wife, Lisa; two grandchildren, Jason Denman and his wife, Rhonda and Jeremy Denman; six great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Judy Hanson and her husband, Jeff and Barbara Anderson and her husband, Harvey; and two brothers, Robert Denman and Elwood Denman and his wife, Bev.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ada Denman; and two sisters, Bev TePaul and Fran Johnson.
Gerald L. Denman was born on October 31, 1930 in Wisconsin, and was a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He worked as a truck driver for many years before his retirement. Mr. Denman was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, nature and feeding his squirrels and birds. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Jason Denman, Jeremy Denman, Gauge Denman, Shelbie Denman, Lon Anderson and Dallas Prejean, Jr.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Mrs. Jo, for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Mr. Denman and his family during their time of need.
