The Life of Donald P Aymond
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at a 10:30 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Donald P. Aymond, age 66, who died on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, Louisiana.
Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Pastor Philip Robertson will officiate the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace," "Just As I Am," and "I Know My Redeemer Lives."
Survivors include his beloved wife, Melanie Ansley Aymond; four step-daughters, Casey Peltier, Gina McClurkan, Jamie Borel and Seana Thompkins; a brother, David J. Aymond, Sr. and his wife Deborah; and seven step-grandchildren, Stephen Peltier, Halli Peltier, Cayden Peltier, Jaison Thompkins, Isabelle Thompkins, Kailee McClurkan and Ryan McClurkan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul James Aymond and the former Johnnie Tarter Aymond; and a sister, Jacquelyn P. Aymond.
Donald P. Aymond was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and was a resident of the Lafayette area for most of his life. He had a Master''s degree in psychology and was a Counselor and grant writer for the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana. He was also a member of the Federal Human Services Board for Native Americans. He was an avid outdoorsman, who always lived life to the fullest. Mr. Aymond enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed.
Pallbearers will be David J. Aymond, Sr., David J. Aymond II, Beau O''Quin, Rickey Picard, Michael Ansley, Everett Ansley III, Rick Gardner and Toby Darden.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 8:00 AM until time of services at 10:30 AM.
