The Life of Abdon Joseph Boulet
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, August 14, 2015 at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Abdon Joseph Boulet, 86, who passed away on August 11, 2015.
Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be Celebrant of the Mass.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Abdon, a resident of Lafayette , was the son of the late Walter Boulet and the former Nedia Stout.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Alice Mevers Boulet; daughter, Bonnie Kidder and her husband, Todd; son, John Boulet and his wife Kristie; great niece, Renee Byrne and her husband, Bryan Robin; grandchildren, Kimberly Hartley and her husband, Ross, Brooke, Brady and Collin Kidder, Jacob and Logan Boulet, Carlie Caruso, Destiny and Cody Robin; great granddaughter, Melanie Boulet; siblings, Mable Boulet, Mac Boulet and Minnie Schmitz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Lee Boulet and Hazel Mayard.
Abdon was a U. S. Army Veteran and member of the American Legion, Post 69. He was owner operator of J. L. Sanitary Supply Company for over 50 years. His hobbies included playing cards, learning about history from his I-pad, and attending his grandchildren''s performances and sporting events. The family wishes to thank the ICU staff at Lourdes and his compassionate friends.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Bertrand on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Thursday in the funeral home led by his nephew, Deacon Ken David. Visiting hours will continue Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nephews and his card playing buddies.
