She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Meier, her daughter, Karen Allen, her parents Gertrude and Porter Hinds and her two sisters, Anna Laurie Allen and Polly Oliver.

Grace was the epitome of her name. She was a sweet, kind, gentle lady who always wanted to do for others. Her greatest joy in life was being a homemaker for her husband and daughters.

Born in Alba, TX, Grace''s family soon moved to Tyler, TX where she was raised with her two sisters. After high school graduation she attended Tyler Business School. It was during that time she met Earl Meier, her husband to be. It was love at first sight, they used to say. They were married just weeks later and remained, until his death in 2004, married for 66 years. They had two daughters, Karen and Shirley. After Earl''s retirement, their travels took them all over the world.

Grace was an avid bowler. She loved the ladies she bowled with and loved the trips they took for tournaments. She volunteered at the Needy Nook at Asbury Methodist Church for many years.

Grace''s home was always open to friends and family. She loved and welcomed her daughters'' friends coming over after school. She was a beautiful mother and grandmother.

There can never be enough kind words for the lady who cared for Grace in the last few years of her life. Ann Racca saw to every need and want Grace could have. She made her last years the most wonderful anyone could ask for. Her helper, Angela Martin, was always there when Ann wanted her.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
