The Life of Barbara Moncrief

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Lafayette for Barbara Lawton Moncrief, 84, who passed away at her residence surrounded by her children at 8:38 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2015.

Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Moncrief, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Robert Lawton and the former Jimmie Hightower.

Barbara was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette since 1959.

In lieu of flowers, Barbara requested donations be made in her memory to First Baptist Church of Lafayette, designated to Missions, to spread the Gospel of Christ.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice and her personal caregivers for their compassionate care.

She is survived by her daughters, Jo Lynn Moncrief and her long time friend, Joy Miguez, Jane Moncrief Miller, Janice Moncrief; sons, James "Jim Bob" Moncrief and his wife, Barbara, Jeff Moncrief and his wife, Paddy; grandchildren, James "Matt" Miller and his wife, Megan, Robert "Keno" Miller and his wife, Mignon, Taryn Schoeffler and her husband, Britt, Taylor Driscoll and her husband, Martin, Rachel White and her husband, Brennan, Zack Moncrief and his wife, Baili and Alexis Moncrief; and Six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E Moncrief, her parents, and one brother, Robert Clyde Lawton, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed at First Baptist Church on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 10:00AM until time of service.

Pallbearers will be Matt Miller, Keno Miller, Zack Moncrief, Britt Schoeffler, Martin Driscoll and Brennan White.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
