The Life of LeRoy Adam Bourgeois

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2015 in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for LeRoy Adam Bourgeois, 92, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
The Reverend Martin Laird, godchild of the deceased, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
LeRoy was born in Lafayette but spent his younger years in Scott, LA. He graduated from Scott High School in 1940 and attended SLI ( ULL ) and LSU. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Hendry in the South Pacific Theatre. After the war ended, he continued his service in Le Havre, France arranging transportation for troops returning home from Europe. He then attended Loyola University in New Orleans attaining a degree in Pharmacy in 1949 and practiced until his retirement in 1992.
He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria, three daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline (Van) Auld, Suzanne (Dr. Baylen) Kimball, and Juliet (Dr. Juan) Zeik. Seven grandchildren, Carolyn Auld Goudelocke, Dr. Elizabeth Auld Scardina, Katharine Kimball Almond, Courtenay Kimball de Manincor, Maura Zeik Greenberg, JD, Alison Zeik, and Joseph Zeik. Seven great-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, Jack Carmichael, one nephew and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hyacinth Leon and Alice Guilbeau Bourgeois, his sister, Alice Joyce B. Carmichael and a nephew.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Zeik, Ryan Goudelocke, Dr. Derek Scardina, Trey Almond, Anthony de Manincor, and Jacob Greenberg.
The family would like to thank the many who cared for LeRoy over the years including Dr. Michael Alexander, Dr. Fabian Lugo, Dr. Juan Zeik, Dr. Charles Boustany, Dr. Baylen Kimball, and Van Auld.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue Monday June 29, 2015 from 9:00 am until the time of service.
