The Life of Emily Marie Simon
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at an 11:00
AM Service in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in
Lafayette for Emily Marie Simon, 62, who died on Thursday, May 21, 2015
at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette surrounded
by her family.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Ty Cooks will conduct the funeral services.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 42 years, Arthur J. "Joe" Simon; three daughters, Shawna Simon Prejean and her husband, Derek, Shamille Simon, and Sharla Simon Nunez and her husband, Kyle; one sister, Mildred "Millie" Kates; one brother, Cecil Theaux; and three grandchildren, Payton Layne Prejean, Zade John Prejean and Zeph Joseph Prejean.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Theaux, Sr. and Georgie Vignes Theaux; three brothers, John Leo "Boo" Theaux, Jr., James "Jimmy" Theaux, and George Ray Theaux; and one sister, Bobbie Theaux Clark.
A native of and lifelong resident of Youngsville, Louisiana, Emily was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors tending to her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, whom she cherished dearly. Emily will be sorely missed by all, as she meant so much to so many.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Sonnier, Brandon Sonnier, Brent Sonnier, Grant Sonnier, Jason Theaux, and Derek Prejean. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Cormier, Wayne Johns, and Kyle Nunez.
A Rosary will be recited by Brady LeBlanc on Friday, May 22, 2015 at 8:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center and Heart of Hospice for their kindness, compassion and loving care given to Mrs. Simon and her family during their time of need.
