The Life of Lynn Ditch

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May12, 2015 at St. Peter Catholic Church for Lynn Kallam Ditch, 60 , who passed away at 1:30 pm Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home surrounded by her husband, sons, and family.

The Reverend Mark Derise will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 2:15 pm.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Lynn, a resident of New Iberia, was born and raised in Lafayette. She was the daughter of the late C.W. Kallam, Jr. and Velma Langlinais Kallam. She was a 1972 graduate of Our Lady of Fatima High School and received a Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of New Orleans. Lynn taught first grade at St. Edwards Catholic School and was librarian at Epiphany Day School in New Iberia.

She was a member of the Krewe of Iberians and past Maid and Queen of Andulusia, a member of the Lafayette and New Iberia Medical Auxillary, St. Peter Catholic Church, Les Allies, Oak Place Rosary Group, substitute adorer for St. Peter’s and a Cursillo retreatant.

Lynn was a devoted wife and she and Carl celebrated their 40th anniversary in June of 2014. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Nothing gave her more pleasure than being with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Carl Ditch; three sons, David Ditch and wife Jessica, Christopher Ditch and wife Marietta, all of New Iberia, and Dr. Scott Ditch of New Orleans; four grandchildren, Kate Avery and Walker Ditch, and Mason and Gunnar Ditch; her mother, Velma Langlinais Kallam of Lafayette; two sisters, Claire Kallam Robert and husband Robbie, and Kay Kallam Judice and husband Kim; two brothers, Bill Kallam and wife Susie, and Robert Kallam and wife Michelle; sister-in-law, Carolyn Ditch Wright and husband Robert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, and a niece, Amanda Claire Judice.

Readers will be Claire Robert, Kay Judice, Michelle Kallam, Susie Kallam, and Carolyn Wright. Gift Bearers include Jessica, Kate Avery, and Walker Ditch, and Marietta, Mason and Gunnar Ditch. Altar Servers will be Benjamin and William Kallam.

Pallbearers will be Dr. Carl Ditch, David Ditch, Christopher Ditch, Dr. Scott Ditch, Bill Kallam, and Robert Kallam. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. John Robert, Dr. Kim Judice, Daniel James, and Robert Wright.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Edwards Catholic School, Catholic High School, or the Epiphany Day School.
