Elizabeth was born November 10, 1938 in Lafayette. She was the first grandchild on her Mother’s side and was known as Betsy. Before going to school, she only spoke French, but soon learned to speak English while growing up.

Mt. Carmel is where she attended elementary school and later attended and graduated from Lafayette High and at that time was known as Liz.

She was a resident of Lafayette, but later her husband’s job took them to Oklahoma and Texas. They settled in Port Arthur for many years and later returned to Lafayette.

She was a volunteer at Women''s & Children’s Hospital, a great homemaker and cook, which she so enjoyed doing for her family. She also enjoyed painting her many landscape pictures which were beautiful and full of color.

She always remembered everyone’s birthday. If there was adversity or you were in the hospital, she was there to lend a helping hand or you were sure to get a card.

She will be remembered for her help and support to family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be G. Ray Theaux, Curtis Sonnier, Brandon, Brent and Grant Sonnier, and Greg Landry.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Monday from 10:00 AM until time of service.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that for those desiring, please have Masses offered at your church parish in memory of Elizabeth.
