The Life of Uella Antoinette Leger

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 1:00 PM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Uella Meche Leger, 89, who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Maison de Lafayette. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Entombment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pastor Earl Lowrey of Christ Gospel Church in Carencro will conduct the funeral services.

Uella was born in Bristol, LA and lived most of her life in Lafayette. She had a passion for gardening and maintaining her house. She was devoted to her faith and her God, attending church services regularly. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Uella will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by three sons, John Tujague and his wife Rose, Raymond Leger, Jr. and his wife Marichu and Rogers Leger and his wife Janet; ten grandchildren, Jackie Lancaster, Perry Lancaster, Shelly Guilliame, Marvin Lancaster, Richard Tujague, Dennis Tujague, Jason Tujague, Courtney Tujague, Jennifer Gerard and Jessica Leger; two sisters, Elsie Vedrenne and Zeanne Speyrer; and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Leger, Sr.; one daughter, Patsy Lancaster; parents, Zenon and Noemie Thibodeaux Meche; one grandson, Christopher Ray Leger; two brothers, Adam Meche and Rogers Meche; and two sisters, Emma Jean Ortego and Sadie Mae Snyder.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
