Fred (Doodad) is survived by his wife, Nancy Stout Shaddox; one son, Terry Shaddox (Glynnis); three daughters, Karen Shaddox, Linda Landry (Norman) and Donna Conklin; nine grandchildren, Nicole Duhon (Kevin Wiemann), Skye Heldenbrand (Troy), Heather Devalcort (CJ), Aimee Landry (Ryan Cuvillier, fiance), Hillary Shaddox (Trey Castleberry, fiance), Tanner, Justin Cromie (Cara), Jarod John Cromie and Timothy Cromie; seven great grandchildren with number eight on its way from heaven; two sisters, Bobbie Ford, Texas and Lucille Claunch, Missouri; four nieces and four nephews and his four legged buddy, Harry.

Preceding Fred in death were his father and mother, Fred T. Shaddox, Sr. and Ruth Davis Shaddox; two sons, Timothy Wayne Shaddox (infant) and Rowdy Lee Shaddox, two sons-in-law, Steve Conklin and Nelson Schoeffler (Nelstone) and two sisters, Louise Finn and Lois Falls.

Fred was born in Edinburgh, Texas, January 17, 1934, reared in Fort Worth, Texas, served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, and earned his Petroleum Engineering Degree from Tulsa University. His engineering career took him from finding dinosaur tracks while working in the dry lands of West Texas to avoiding alligators in the swamps near Lafayette, Louisiana in 1965. His ongoing drilling and completion experiences took him from the East Coast, Midwestern States, to India, and back to the Basin. He retired working with oilfield environmental control.

He was an ordained deacon serving the Lord in all functions of a Baptist Church, from erecting the buildings to teaching Sunday School. One of his many missions was to help the illiterate to learn to read the Bible. His retirement years were spent experimenting with recipes and food values to conform to his dietary restrictions for the people to have "something that had a taste" in the future.

Pallbearers will be his four grandsons, his two grand-sons-in law and his three grand-sons-in law to be. The family wishes to thank the many people who have ministered to Fred over the last five years, far too many to count, and our heartfelt gratitude for all your prayers and support.
