The Life of Laura Duhon
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Laura B. Duhon, age 77, who died on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pastor Kelly Segura of Family Life Church will officiate the services.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Harvey Duhon; one daughter, Wanda Duhon May and her husband, Vernon; two sons, Ricky Duhon and his wife, Debbie and Scotty Duhon and his wife, Jennifer; three sisters, Mabel Simon, Velta Broussard and Nell Babineaux; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorfis Boutte; three brothers, Ned, Howard and Lee Boutte; three sisters, Nida Bourque, Nedia Viator and Betty Boudreaux; and one son-in-law, Philip Langlinais.
Laura Boutte Duhon was a native of Youngsville, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 57 years. She worked as a salesperson for Sears and Roebuck Corporation for many years until her retirement. Mrs. Duhon also worked as a seamstress and a caregiver for many children throughout her life. She loved camping, cooking and playing cards. Mrs. Duhon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Duhon, Scotty Duhon, Vernon May, Jeremy Langlinais, Michael Duhon and Joseph Fortier.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachary Duhon and Tanner Langlinais.
A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
