The Life of Mary Hazel Trahan

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at a 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mary Hazel Trahan, 79, who died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Lafayette.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Keith Landry, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Musical selections will be "Amazing Grace", "My Shepherd Is The Lord", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Here I Am Lord" and "On Eagles'' Wings".

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara LeBlanc (Jimmy) and Edna Campbell (Danny); her sons, John Trahan (Christine), David Trahan, Kirk Trahan (Connie), and Ross Trahan (Yovonda); her sister, Ruth Barzare; thirteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pierre Murphy Trahan; her son, Robert Wade Trahan; her parents, Theo and Gussie Cormier; and an infant brother, Joseph Cormier.

A resident of the Vatican community, Hazel was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN location on Friday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The Trahan sends a special thank to St. Joseph Hospice and the staff at Amelia Manor Nursing Home.
