The Life of Johnny Wilma Neveu
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 10:00 AM in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers, for Wilma Barbre Neveu, 88, who passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home in Lafayette.
Interment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Brother Dave Russe will conduct the funeral services.
Wilma was a native of Rayne, lived many places throughout Louisiana, but was a current resident of Lafayette. Towards the end of her career as a librarian, she was the Chief Librarian in the New Orleans Veterans Administration Medical Center. She was an avid reader, loved traveling and tracing family genealogy. Wilma will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Margaret Lambert and her husband Brian and Kathryn Bruno and her husband Joseph; six grandchildren, Maureen Petik, Bart Patrick Lambert, Leigh Lambert, Paula Lambert, Rachele Bruno and Lucas Bruno II; four great grandchildren; one sister, Angie Primeaux and her husband Benny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Durwood Herbert Neveu; parents, John Wilmer and Sylvia Campbell Barbre; and two sisters, Louise Dupont and Sylvia Jane Chachere.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our mother''s devoted caregiver of two years, Freda Hall, who cared for her with much love and respect. Also, our thanks to Concepts of Care Home Health and Hospice Compassus.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her favorite charities, St. Jude Children''s Hospital, Salvation Army or the Charity of your choice.
