The Life of Yola Mary Sellers
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014, at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette, for Yola Mary Montet Sellers, 90, who passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Franklin Nursing Home.
Interment will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Granny, as Yola was more affectionately known, was a longtime resident of Lafayette. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who always had a kind word for everyone. She loved her family more than herself and was always ready to help anyone. She was a LPN at Abram Kaplan Memorial Hospital for 25 years, where she retired. Her care and compassion for her patients would stand next to none. Granny was a wonderful cook, seamstress, and enjoyed playing Bourree. She loved dancing and spending time with her family. Granny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Alexander M. Sellers; two daughters, Betty Ann Bergeron and her husband Butch and Lucinda G. Sellers; three grandchildren, Tony Hebert and his wife Denise, Toby Hebert and his fiance, Bridget Roy and Dyani Jarosz; six great grandchildren, Rozlon, Kodie Ann, Kylie, Samantha, Tyler and Eddie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by an infant son; parents, Estine and Bernadette Montet; and six brothers and three sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, December 19, 2014 at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Friday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be Toby Hebert, Butch Bergeron, Kenneth Rivette, Leward Montet, Freddie Montet, Jr. and Joe Trahan.
