The Life of Eugene Bayley Cole

Eugene Bayley Cole, 89, of Houston, died the 9th of December 2014 after a long battle with repercussions of prostate cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty; his step-daughter Patricia; and his three children, E.B., Pamela, and Pauline. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Originally from New York, Gene was a proud veteran, having served in the US Navy during WWII. After the war, he moved south when he married his first wife, Iva Mae. When Iva passed away in 1981, Gene continued to work and soon married his second wife, Betty. They have been happily married over 32 years.

Gene was an invaluable member of the executive team at Diamond M Drilling until his retirement. His life after a successful professional career in energy afforded him life''s most important gifts; sports, good food, travel, friends, and family. He will be greatly missed.

A reception with the family will be held from eleven o''clock in the morning until one o''clock in the afternoon of Friday, the 12th of December at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston. Burial will be held Saturday, the 13th of December in Lafayette, Louisiana.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests contributions in memory of Eugene Bayley Cole to be directed to the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 900 Portway Drive, Houston, Texas 77024.
