OPELOUSAS- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 28, 2014 for Mrs. Elvia Juliane Deckert Amos, 77, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, TX.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette, LA. Father Jaison Mangalath will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial.

Elvira Juliane Deckert Amos was born on May 6, 1937 to the late Alwin and Chairlotta Deckert in Berlin, Germany. Jesus called her home in the morning of Saturday, November 22, 2014. After marrying Michael Amos she traveled around the United States with the military then later lived in Lafayette for several years before returning to Berlin, Germany for three years. They later became natives of Port Arthur, TX where they have remained for the past twenty-three years.

Elvira leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Michael Amos of Port Arthur, TX; one daughter, Becky Amos Millsap of Port Arthur, TX; five granddaughters, Kiera, Chasity, Brianna, Keyonna, and Cha’Niah of Port Arthur, TX; one grandson, Julian Joseph Amos of Port Arthur, TX; one brother, Gunter Deckert (Krista) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be observed from 9:00 AM until the time of service Friday, November 28, 2014 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
