The Life of Mable Marie Fontenot
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Mable M. Fontenot, age 62, who died on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at her residence in Scott.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Keith Landry, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Cow Island, Louisiana will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Fontenot, Sr. of Scott, LA; two daughters, Tammy Eddy and her husband, Willie of Scott; Brandy Schexnayder and her husband, Clovis of Scott; three sons, Vernon Fontenot, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer of Scott, Chad Fontenot of Scott and Brennan Fontenot of Scott; 11 grandchildren, Joshua Eddy, Shelby Eddy, Katyln Eddy, Peter Fontenot, Tanner Fontenot, Taylor Fontenot, Jacey Fontenot, Landon Fontenot, Bryce Fontenot, Zedrick Prayor and Desiree Prayor; seven sisters, Grace Wolf, Edith Krall, Cassie Urilck, Linda Garrisson, Karen Hall, Margie Lerch, Patty Clendenin; two brothers, William Beers and Tom Beers.
She was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Margie Beers; two brothers, Harry Willard Beers and Frank Sonon.
A resident of Scott, Louisiana for most of life, she loved to play bingo and enjoyed spending time in her yard. Mable donated her time to the special olympics for the handicap. Her true passion was helping others and spending time with family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Chad Fontenot, Vernon Fontenot, Jr., Brennan Fontenot, Zedrick Prayor, Joshua Eddy and Willie Eddy.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Peter Fontenot, Tanner Fontenot and Landon Fontenot.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
