The Life of Bess Beadle

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Bess B. Beadle, 98, who passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Thursday evening in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the time of service.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Bess Francis Braunig Beadle was born on August 21, 1916 in Hereford, Deaf Smith County, Texas to Hubert Edwin Braunig and the former Bess Vivienne McAlpine.

Bess aka "Mimi", grew up in Beaumont, TX where she graduated from St. Anthony High and met the love of her life, Wesley Beadle, Jr. They were married for 49 wonderful years, living in Beaumont, Texas City and finally Lafayette, where she lived the remainder of her life. She retired from Abdalla''s as a buyer for the children''s department, after 25 years, making many friends through her retail contacts. She was active in the DAR and loved to travel making special memories with her friends and family all of whom she cherished-and they her.

Bess is survived by her two children, Barbara Beadle Arceneaux and her husband Charlie of Lafayette and Wesley E. Beadle, III and his wife Linda of Montgomery, TX; her five grandchildren, William H. Arceneaux and his wife Connie of Houston, TX, Charles L. Arceneaux and his wife Tracy of the United Arab Emirates, Bess Arceneaux Trahan and her husband Jay of Youngsville, LA, Wesley E. Beadle IV and his wife Karen of Houston, TX and Christopher S. Beadle of Lafayette, LA; her ten great grandchildren, Bess, Leah, Chaz, Courtney, Paul, Alexander, Chanel, Madison, Eli and Aidan; and her great-great grandchild, Alice.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wesley E. Beadle, Jr.; parents, Hubert Braunig, Sr. and Bess McAlpine Braunig; her brother, Hubert Braunig, Jr.; her sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Beadle Meehan and Patricia Porter Braunig; and many other loved ones.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family extends gratitude to Dr. Kowalski, Dr. Richard Fei and Dr. Kelly Cahill; the staffs of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Garden View and Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home; and especially to Hospice of Acadiana.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Arceneaux, Wesley Beadle IV, Chris Beadle, Jay Trahan, Paul Arceneaux, Alexander Trahan, Chaz Arceneaux and Kyle Stephenson. Honorary Pallbearer will be William "Biff" Arceneaux.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of funeral arrangements.
