The Life of Harvey L Gillis
Memorial Services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 PM Memorial Mass in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Harvey L. Gillis, 83, who died on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.
Reverend Dan Edwards will officiate the memorial Mass.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Donald Gillis; the mother of his children, Val Gillis; one sister, Taunce Smith; and two brothers, Ray Gillis and his wife, Peggy and E.L. Meeks and his wife, Bobbie.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Gillis and Richard Gillis; two brothers, James Gillis and Pert Gillis; and his parents, Ernest and Pauline Underwood Gillis.
Harvey L. Gillis was born on July 10, 1931 in Douglas, Georgia. He worked for many years as an operator for the oil & gas industry until his retirement. Mr. Gillis enjoyed fishing, golf, and playing cards. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of services.
