The Life of Mylha Jolie Overfelt

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Mylah Jolie Overfelt, 2, who passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2014 at Women''s and Children''s Hospital in Lafayette.

Entombment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum in Lafayette.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Holly Overfelt and Brittlyn Cormier. Giftbearers will be Harliegh Cormier, Skyla Overfelt and Joeb Cormier. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Be Not Afraid", "Psalm 25", "Ave Maria", "One Bread, One Body" and "On Eagles'' Wings" for the services.

Left to cherish her memories include her loving parents, Thomas Ray and Marcy Lynn Amedee Overfelt; her sister, Skyla Rae Overfelt; her maternal grandparents, Donna and Roland Amedee, Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Carmen Perez and Hilda Overfelt; her paternal great grandparents, Betty Overfelt, Jesus "Geno" Perez, Joan Perez, Wade Brignac and Barbara Brignac; her maternal great grandfather, Roland Amedee, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Overfelt; paternal great grandfather, Jerry Dale Overfelt; maternal great grandparents, Nell Amedee and Peggy Gauthe; and her maternal great grand father, Hubert Gauthe, Sr.

Mylah Jolie Overflelt was called to be with God after only a short time here with us. While she was here, she made a huge impact on so many lives. She loved traveling to Vacherie, Louisiana to see her family where she would get green freeze pops from her Grammie and Poppie. Mylah was daddy''s girl and loved to dance with her daddy. She adored and looked up to her big sister. She was an avid Dora fan and enjoyed riding her scooter whenever she could. Her favorite food of choice when hungry was always pasta. Mylah Jolie Overfelt was a loving daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, niece and cousin to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cormier, Billy Senenta, John Lanclos, Justin Hidalgo, Mitchell Amedee, Randy Thibodeaux and Adrian Kliebert.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday, from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
