The Life of Anthony A. Simon
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Delhomme Funeral Home Chapel of the Flowers for Anthony Simon, 90, who passed away on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 10:08 pm at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
Msgr. Robie Robichaux, Pastor of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Anthony, a resident of Lafayette, LA was the son of the late Edmond Simon and the former Marie Domingue.
He is survived by his children, Elsie M Simon, Earline Chellette and husband Dewey, Geraldine Brewington, Annie Bishop and husband Larry, Nellie Sanderson, Sidney Simon and wife Brenda and Marie Quebodeaux and husband Barry; thirty grandchildren, fifty three great grandchildren and twenty three great great grandchildren; and his sister, Lucille LaCombe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Aurelia Miller Simon; his son, Joseph L. Simon; his granddaughters, Melanie Brewington and Linda Mendoza; his grandson, Sonny Quebodeaux; son in laws, Dale Sanderson and Ted Brewington; his sisters, Louise Credeur, Easaure Boudreaux, Matille Guidry and Laurel Simon; his brothers, Rene, William, Wallace and Etienne Simon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home on Bertrand Drive on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A Rosary will be recited by the Ladies Altar Society on Tuesday at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Visiting hours will continue on Tuesday July 15, 2014 from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
