The Life of Adele M Stelly

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30, 2014 at a 1:00 PM Service in Martin & Castille''s La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Adele Pellerin Stelly, age 90, who died on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Pelican Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Maurice.

Entombment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Deacon Cody Miller, with St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, Louisiana will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Claudine Desormeaux. Karen Broussard, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 23, "How Great Thou Art", "J''irai la voir un jour" and "Be Not Afraid".

Survivors include one daughter, Savannah S. Miller of Milton; six grandchildren, Troy Miller, Marty Miller, Todd Miller, Kimberly Stelly, Lori Trahan and Chris Stelly; sixteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Neda Stelly; and one sister, Alice Desormeaux Hebert.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Nickes Stelly, who died on Thursday, February 6, 2014; her parents, Baltarzar Pellerin Sr. and the former Adele Meyers; one son Lawrence James Stelly; and fifteen brothers and sisters.

Ms. Adele was born on July 14, 1923 in Scott, Louisiana and was a resident of Milton, Louisiana for 44 years. She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother and grandmother. Ms. Adele, in her younger years, loved dancing and listening to french music. She loved to play bingo and loved cooking for family, anytime that the family could gather at her house. Besides caring for her family, Ms. Adele babysat and cared for a number of other children for many years. She was a devout parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton and recited the rosary several times daily.

Pallbearers will be Troy Miller, Marty Miller, Todd Miller, Chris Stelly, Kain Miller and Nicholas Stelly.

The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s SOUTHSIDE location on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A Rosary will be prayed Sunday at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home by Claudine Desormeaux.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff at Pelican Point Healthcare in Maurice. Also, thank you to the Community Hospice Care Staff, with extra special thanks to Jill.
